Australia

Australia have broadcast the festival since 1983, have organized their own televoting since 2010, have claimed their own commentator booth since 2012, have participated for the first time (still as an interval act and outside the official contest line-up) in 2014, and were finally asked to partake officially in 2015 - as a one-time special guest for the contest's 60 year anniversary. But it didn't stop there. They participated ever since as a regular Eurovision country, with the sole restriction that in case of a victory they won't organize the next festival on home soil but with another European country of choice in that particular country instead. The first five Australian entries reached the Grand Final with ease, and in 2016 they even reached the second place with Dami Im and her song Sound of silence. The only time (so far) they didn't get through the semi-finals was in 2021.
