Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina has taken part in the Eurovision Song contest as an independent country since 1993 - after the collapse of the Republic of Yugoslavia. The country has never won, but generally manages to qualify for the final. Bosnia and Herzegovina achieved its best result in 2006 when it came third. For financial reasons the country only participates occasionally.

The first ever Bosnian entry in 1993 is an extraordinary story. The singer Fazla, had to flee the besieged town of Sarajevo to get to Ireland where the contest was being held, and to see his girlfriend again. Read his unique story here.
